A practice shaped by connection
Dr. Kimberlee Thomas-Seales is the founder of DAKXS Leadership & Empowerment Circle, LLC, and an interdisciplinary educator, trainer, and social worker with more than two decades of experience supporting children, families, professionals, and organizations.
Her career spans psychotherapy, applied behavior analysis, Early Intervention, higher education, professional training, parent coaching, and community-based practice. Across these settings, she has seen how people’s lives are shaped not only by individual needs, but also by relationships, culture, identity, environments, professional interpretation, and the systems responsible for care.
Her commitment is informed by both professional and lived experience. In addition to working with children and families across behavioral, developmental, clinical, and educational settings, Dr. Thomas-Seales has firsthand experience navigating school and service systems as a parent. This perspective deepens her understanding of the coordination, advocacy, and decision-making families undertake—and strengthens her commitment to ensuring that family voice, culture, context, and dignity remain central to professional practice.
Her roots in Tobago and her connection to Caribbean and BIPOC communities further shape her belief that effective support must recognize culture, relationships, family knowledge, and lived experience.
That understanding became the foundation for DAKXS: a space where social work values, behavioral and developmental science, cultural humility, and Person-in-Environment thinking can inform one another without losing sight of the people and families at the center.

The idea at the heart of DAKXS
“Data can reveal patterns. Dignity reminds us whose lives those patterns represent.”
Dr. Thomas-Seales’s work challenges professionals to move beyond isolated observations and consider the broader human story: context, voice, culture, relationships, environment, and lived experience. This is the principle behind Where Data Meets Dignity™.
